I use it go from DC to ac power to operate my laptop under the stars often in subfreezing temperatures. I've had other similar inverters that come with attached positive/negative alligator clips. At some point, particularly in subfreezing temperatures, the cables start to break at the inverter from being bent back and forth in use. This inverter simply has a cigarette ended cable that connects to separate alligator clips. There is no bending cables back and forth. Much more reliable.
