It just so happens that when these things come, there's a bug that sticks to one of the walls down there and stays there all day. I plugged it into the socket just above it. I sat, waited and watched. Within 30 seconds, the bug was running at full speed under a door to escape. I didn't hear anything, but he clearly did. No lies or lies, it's been over a week and I haven't seen any insects in the basement since I plugged 2 of these down there.

So not sure it will solve the problem. how does it cause the inside but as for deterring invaders around if your building in general causes gas or neighbor problems I'd say these are reliable to help create A barrier.
