He will fall asleep in it and it is inflated off the ground so when we are out of the pool and in the shade he can just hang out in it or sleep peacefully without being on the ground. My two month old used this float. I was not sure it would work as it says for babies 3 months and up. However, the straps tighten enough for her and she fits in nice and tight. The one thing I have an issue with is that it gets too much air in the head rest so she positioned herself with her head to the side and was comfortable that way. As some of the other reviews say, water did get in the ring around where the baby sets but it did not seem to be a problem for us. We wanted our daughter to get a little bit wet. At no point was she in danger because of the water that was in the float. I do think the price is a little high but it is very safe so I was willing to pay.
