It's supposed to be for 3 year-olds, but the 7-year-old seems to enjoy it most. It would be nice if they had a little storage compartment underneath for the vehicles, because they are small and easily lost in a busy household. But it's a great toy!

Once assembled, it took my three year old a few minutes to understand the levers and actions- and as a teacher, I was amazed at how age appropriate and thought provoking this toy was. Assembly wasn’t that difficult. I just wish some of the joints were snapped in tight that just inserted. Slightly bigger in size than I expected but not complaining. My 3.5 yr old was hooked and really loved it. I can see he will play with it for a long time to come. Just make sure to play on a flat rigid surface otherwise the cars may have difficulty moving since the race track works based on angles.

It is a little tricky to raise the platform to the helicopter to pick up the car at times, but the kids learned a firmer press makes it "hop" to the magnet.
