The needle is a bit bigger of a gauge than I'd prefer, but much finer and it wouldn't be able to push the thread down when using it (without bending it, that is). It is pretty self explanatory, but the metal is quite sharp amd shredded 2 of the 4 rubber bands provided. I stopped attempting to affix the tool in place as per the "instructions" (in quotation marks, as there is a more than hefty dose of "now finish the owl" involved in those instructions) after the second band snapped, so I could keep my now single spare for the round wood part. You don't co.e out with a patch looking classy or professional, but your holes will be patched and look pretty cool (and your garment will continue to be usable).

I'm new to using this loom, so I'm not very good just yet, but it is fun learning. The rubber bands didn't last even my first attempt, but that's fine I have plenty. I also did realize that you need thicker thread than sewing thread. But the loom is made of good quality materials. I do wish the instructions were a little bit more in detail and maybe even had some pictures for us who are more visual learners. But again, easy fix by looking it up on youtube. So if youre new to this craft like I am, I would recommend watching some videos on how to use it. But all in all great product.
