I have never owned a heat cap before. I bought this product because I felt like my hair conditioning routine could use some help. This cap gets very hot and it worked very well. It has two settings, one is high and the other is medium heat. It comes with a reusable shower cap, which you would need to put on your hair first before using the heat cap. This helps to product the heat cap from getting messy or wet with hair product.I enjoyed using this product and my hair felt very nourished after using it. The only thing I can say is the part where the heat cap connects to the power chord doesn't really get hot, I guess for safety reasons. I just turn the cap a bit to move the heat around. It feels and works like a quality product.

To be clear this is an electric heat cap and does not produce steam. It has 2 heat settings "low/high". Unfortunately I don't see a range of temperatures for either setting. I used it for the first time today and I really like it. It gives even heat and I don't have to worry about reheating as with the microwaveable version. I considered getting a microwaveable heat cap initially but thought against it because of the probable reheating needed. I used the low setting for about an hour with my deep conditioner and it worked great for me. The heat cap came with a shower cap to use with it. It has a draw string at the back to adjust the size to your liking. The power cord also seems to be long enough to allow you to move around a little while using the heat cap. I would recommend this heat cap to anyone wanting to be able to apply heat to their deep conditioner treatment or their hot oil treatments.
