This worked perfectly for our family movie night. We projected it onto our vaulted ceiling without a special screen or anything. We sate it and the laptop on a tv tray. The first two pictures are taken with our very bright LED Christmas tree, another smaller Christmas tree, a dozen candles, a Himalayan salt lamp, LED up-lighting in dining room and kitchen (one big open space) and the overhead stove light on. Even with all that low light ambient lighting, the picture showed up great. The last picture is just with the candles and a Himalayan salt lamp on. The speaker is fine but I might try to find a better option for an improved listening experience. I did TONS of research... watching YouTube, reading reviews on here and several blogs comparing different models...and finally chose this projector. You can't really go wrong with the price and a one year warranty, in my opinion. We are VERY happy with this purchase overall.

This little projector packs a big punch. I use it with both Roku and Chromecast and it works flawlessly. Picture quality is excellent and the screen is bright and clear even at ~10'. Indoors the fan is noticeable but not louder than other projectors I've used for business purposes. Outdoors the fan is barely audible. Do yourself a favor and connect real speakers if you are watching a movie - the built in audio is sufficient but not great quality. If you are watching outdoors you'll want to move the speakers closer to you anyway so you don't wake the neighbors.

This projector is compact and light, and super economic. From opening the box to having my Roku stick up and running on it was about a minute and a half. I was worried about the sound quality and also the cooling fan of the unit, but both are definitely of better quality than anticipated. The brightness was good enough that I was able to test this out with good results in a room with windows before the sun went down. The focus and tilt functions were intuitive enough that I figured them out immediately as well (I have yet to crack the manual that came with it). The remote works well (I'll note that it didn't get sent with batteries, which was fine with me) too. I can't wait to get it mounted on the ceiling for movie nights!
