One complaint I read about before I ordered is that they don't cancel out much background noise. I'm pretty sure that it popped out of my ear when I pulled off my Covid mask while getting in my car at a gas station. I drove off and was long gone. Then later...Yikes! I didn't bring a spare with me. I had a spare at home, but I was out of state. In fact, I had three spares at home. That won't happen again. One of those has a permanent home in my glove box. Most people with moderate to severe hearing problems will need to bump the volume up (slowly) by two or three notches at least to achieve optimal hearing. One final point: you can eavesdrop on conversations dozens of yards away if your volume is set nearer the top level. I'm not making any suggestions, just stating a fact.
