My stairs have thin wood stick so i had to cut the plastic sticky things and it was way long for my stairway so i fold it twice from one end and put safety pins and its ok. I found this beauty during prime day and I couldn’t be happier! I didn’t use the hooks that came with it though. We opted for black command strip hooks because they won’t damage the wood and they blend in much better than the hooks that came with it. I will say that if your dog will push on this or try to get through or around it, this might not be for you. Our dogs just sit and stare at it and haven’t made any attempt to circumvent it.
