When you think of something that might replace a car seat for a child you'd think it would have a million straps and tethers and just be a pain all around. Not true with this product. It actually is a lot easier to work with that most of the car seat strap systems I've used. You can simply put the vest on at home (and it's very easy to get on a kid), toddlers are pretty excited about them cause they look kind of like a police vest or some of sort of advanced apparatus. Once in the car, you simply guide the seat belt through the appropriate parts of the vest and snap it in as usual, really very easy. I do worry about a cop not knowing that these are street legal, but I imagine that could be resolved easily. We will be using this product in our travels and even at home if needed.

I looked everywhere online and this one was the best price with all the bells and whistles. I purchased directly through their website since they're a small company. Mine came with the vest, headrest, tether and crotch strap to keep him from kicking at the back seat window. You might want to look at the tether to be sure it will fit in your vehicle. It fits perfectly in a sedan with two top tether hooks in the back seat. My hefty son is about 80 lbs and I got the XL which should fit him for a year or more. The company can make custom sizing on the vest and tethers if you're needing something specific. I wouldn't travel without this!
