You guys, it takes two steps to turn on this iron. Step one is hitting the little push button on the side. Step two is pushing up the long black button on the front to light it. In other words, you are first turning on the butane, and then igniting it.. sort of like starting a gas stove. Once you figure that out, the iron is little harder to use than a regular one because it is short, but it definitely heats up and will curl your hair. It is nice to not have cord to deal with and will work fine on my one week vacation!
