It took a little practice for me to learn how high up on a section of my hair I could go (I have long hair - a little past my shoulders) but it did not tangle up on me once. The curl lasted from when I first did it in the mid-afternoon (after showering and blow drying like normal), for the rest of that day/night, all through the next day/night. I did brush my hair, which turned the curl into a mix of curls and waves, but they still held their shape until I washed my hair on the morning of that third day.
