The hole is elastic so it will stretch to allow for a large or pinned up bun. You will obviously still get rumpled a bit getting this on and off over an updo but it looks loads better than stuffing all your hair into a regular hat and look like you have no hair. Love the black metallic design- would buy again and definately nice enough to gift although there s no explanations about the hole in the packaging so you d have to help to describe what it is to the recipient.
