I have many deer in our area and when it snows, they get real hungry and start eating all our plants and bushes. I have put these on a 4 foot to 5 foot pole, so the snow will not cover them. They solar charge easily all winter and summer, so there is no need to replace batteries. I just put them in place and let them do all the work. Sounds is not very auditable by humans, but the dear and animals sure do not care for the flashing lights and sound these produce.
