This it's a cute clock, it's tail is a pendulum. Though the second hand moves in a smooth motion without clicking, if you have the tail moving, it makes a ticking sound. I don't mind, it's what i expected and it will be in my somewhat busy office so it will hardly be noticed. But if you want a silent clock, it does have an option to keep the tail from swinging to prevent the ticking.
