I ordered these pens not having a lot of hope, but they worked well, you can・・t even tell the rubbing alcohol was there unless you knew exactly where to look and looked really closely. Follow the directions as instructed and feel free to mix two colors together to get an exact match on your floors (I did). It helps to draw small lines of color along the grain of the floor and rub them in with a paper towel, building the color that way. Go slow and don・・t use it like a Crayola marker and it will work great!

I didn・・t do it right at first however, just drawing in the discolored parts like a marker. If left a ring of darker color around each dent. If you keep a damp paper towel and rub off the excess after each application though, it may look light at first but after a few applications it evens out and looks pretty good. I even used it on my stairs which are dark ebony and that one turned out even better since the color match was perfect. Great product for a great price!

Color only inside of the damaged areas. Begin with a lighter marker color and work in multiple layer stages to build darkness. This will help to avoid leaving behind marker streaks and/or pushing the repair work to appearing too dark.

There are two colors to match light and dark colored wood. I imagine you could mix them to get a more unique color but I didn't try that.
