Now that I have this amplifier for a bit and have had the opportunity to use it, I want to praise it to the skies. For me, the results have been amazing. I'm not missing things anymore. Since I turn it off when I'm not using it, I would imagine I'll get a bit more mileage out of the battery than someone who has it in use all the time. I most assuredly would recommend this to anyone who simply needs to turn up the volumn in their ear(s) a bit.

I rarely write review unless a product is particularly good or bad. For me this was a good one. My hearing has declined both in terms of volume and clarity of speech. I bought one of these on Amazon in hopes that it would help me with TV news and movies. It was great for that purpose, so I ordered another one for backup and in case I wanted one for each ear. The ability to select different frequency bands is great for me. I use the 1st position and beside basic amplification, it greatly enhances the clarity of speech. I browsed the manufacturer's website to learn more about the product and wound up buying the BHA 603 in ear twin pack. This also works for me. 'More discrete for wearing when I go out, much more difficult to insert properly, but successful in adding volume and clarity to speech. Not as good as the 220, but helpful enough.

She was still having trouble hearing, even after adjustment by the audiologist. Tried one of the BHA-220. She says this one works better! Now ordering another for the other ear. While these are physically bigger than the outrageously expensive ones, what is important to her is being able to hear.

And I keep it on its lowest setting so it's even more powerful than I've needed to use it. It has a tinny quality to the sound but for the help it gives I can live with that. Definitely less expensive than prescription hearing aids. I can't make a prediction how it would work for someone with worse hearing than me, but I'll buy again if this one wears out.
