There are 3 settings, the airflow is consistent and strong. When I'm at home or walking to work, my sunscreen and facial products will run into my eyes because of sweat. This unit does emit a sound as a fan does; you may want to turn it off when talking to people to be polite. However, it isn't overbearingly loud. I highly recommend it.
