The clip rotates 360 degrees to prevent the lead from twisting and turning . If the dog suddenly rushes forward, simply pull the traction rope back , and the internal swivel will automatically lock . Total length of the traction rope: 10 feet .

Ok I'm writing a very positive review. I read the instructions on how this item works. It has an auto lock like a seat belt so when the dog charges it auto locks up. It also has a feature where you can lock leash in place at anywhere from about 3ft to 9 feet. I use it with 2 mini aussies 35 and 45 pounds. Have used them on german shepherds, Bernese Mt dog, pug, labs, retrievers and a hybrid wolf. I put my mini aussies one on each wrist or both on my belt. DO NOT USE ON ANKLES! Haha almost pulled me over. Yes with it being a cord if you are not aware of where your dog is you will bet a leash burn. Do not use with anything else on same wrist ie: watch or bracelet because it will tangle and burn your wrist. I love using them when I'm working in the yard because hands are free. It's also great for inside tethering for new dogs to get used to you. PLEASE READ all instructions and use in a quiet place before going out into a super busy place. Get used to it and how you and your dog interact with it. Yes you need to be cautious but it is a super item and I've been using them for about 5 yrs now. Yes I have gotten rope burns but it's my fault for not being aware of my dog and not paying attention. But that does not mean I have to watch my dog like a hawk. I simply walk and they do too we both enjoy this leash.

The only negative is not the fault of the leash.....one pup can get behind and then the leash can tangle you with it if one is in front and one behind. Love this leash! My old one got tangled and didn't retract properly causing my dog to get tangled in the cord and causing me to have to untangle the dog and leash (exasperated sigh). I bought this chain after my old one broke. Now, there are no more tangles so my dog can pull back and forth any way he wants! The chain will retract as normal even if the rope is twisted. And lifetime replacement is also an added bonus. My only regret is that I didn't buy this leash sooner and throw away the old one. Price is also very affordable.

I really like this leash, it allows me to walk my dog while hands free. The only thing that I think is missing is the manual stops button that you find on other retractable leashes. This leash does have an automatic stop, meaning if your pet tries to run away quickly it will stop them automatically, and it's pretty reliable. There is a little plastic piece that you can wrap the cord around to manually stop your pet but I find it to be annoying. I wish I could just press down on the center of the colored area to just stop manually.

I own two terriers and walking them on separate leashes is a nightmare, mostly involving confusion when one wants to go one way and the other the opposite. This dual retractable leash solved the problem and saved us the headache of our daily walks. The fact that each person can follow his or her own path, limited only by the length of the rope, is one of the most useful and wonderful features of this rope. Occasionally, there will still be a tangle or two, but this can be easily fixed by rotating the "drum" that holds the cord. Although some reviewers found this product a bit flimsy and poorly made -- and I realized that my dogs, while quite active, each weighed less than 20 lbs -- I find this dual retractable leash sturdy, well made and easy to hold. I definitely recommend it and will repurchase when needed.
